helix90 came home a few months back and said that he won a free trip through work. Five days in Cancun. He’d been there before and was thinking about passing on the trip. I said that we ought to go. Although I’m not a sun and surf kind of person and I’ve never had much interest in going to Mexico, I do love to travel. The prospect of going somewhere new and different almost always appeals. Even if it just means enjoying hotels and shopping in a different country. The other small problem is that its right before Norwescon, but it isn’t that big a problem. The trip was set, but it slipped my mind until the other day when I was working on this year’s travel calendar. I figured I should poke around and see if there was anything worth seeing in the area. Now I have to admit that my knowledge of geography is pathetic, so it came as a complete surprise that Chichen Itza is right there! Although I’ve never made an actual list, it’s always been one of the places I wanted to see. So, it appears we’ll be braving the heat and exploring Mayan ruins in March. *bounce*
