Last night at the meet up I told someone (who is relatively new to all this new fangled online stuff) that she shouldn't bother learning to blog because it's over. The day of the blog is done, or at least that's what many of the online pundits (read BLOGGERS!) have been saying recently. People agreed and we mused on what was going to take it's place. Twitter was suggested. I remarked that I despised Twitter and didn't see the point. Many agreed. So, I asked what would be the next big thing after that. The end of the human race was the reply. Oh, er...damn. Okay...long live Twitter!
Meanwhile it appears that many in LJland are fearing the regime change may signal the end is nigh. It's not a certainty, but as cycles go, this has been a good run. I will backup my journals for my own edification and hope that it's not necessary.
As I sit typing this, the wind is rattling my balcony door with true ferocity and I'm feeling doom and gloomy. Comes the storm. 2009 is not the year I ordered so far either.
