Although it got off to a rough start, my weekend was alright. For some reason, I awoke at 5:30 on Friday morning and couldn’t fall back to sleep. On my best day for sleeping in! I have gotten used to the chickens outside my window, and even the school that is right next door, but none of these was the cause. I finally fell back asleep an hour and a half later, and then of course couldn’t get up when I wanted to. I got up and caught a bus to Greenwood to get a quick hair cut and run some errands. It was much too cold for me so I was grumpy anyway. I went to the Beauty school, which turned out to be a mistake. My stylist was a newbie and very slow. I had figured my quick trim would be a snap, but no. It took forever!!!! My hair is a little shorter than I wanted but, it’ll grow. I ran my errands and headed home. The first bus missed the second bus by a minute and so I ended up walking the rest of the way home in the miserable cold. I planned to do chores at home all day, but my roomie was feeling stir crazy, so we went out and about. He wanted to look at hot tubs. I now know way more about hot tubs than I ever wanted to. I gotta say, there are some pretty stupid extras. (We didn’t buy one this time around but it’s a possibility) We ended up going to Everett Mall and browsing. It was nice.
Saturday, I slept in and didn’t feel very ambitious all day. I did a bunch of PhotoShop work to try to hone my skills. Around ten
scott_t_s showed up and we went to see his friend’s band "Loophole". They had a ton of technical problems, and took forever to begin but it was still a good show. The lead singer is very good and his band keeps morphing. Eventually they may get it all together. The new guitarist needs to keep his quips to himself, but he’s new. Maybe he’ll learn. He’s NOT funny. I really didn’t like the venue though. It was at Tommy’s in the U-district. Very smoky and not much seating. I’m probably just too old. I probably shouldn’t be doing this to my throat yet either, but I’m still glad I went.
Today, is work as usual. Mostly admin stuff and fighting with machines. (but I think I’m winning finally…)

Monday: W picked me up and we went to the EMP to see Evil Little Men. We were early, and it was easy to find parking but it was raining so we went straight to the show. They were playing trivia in the Liquid Lounge, but it was happy hour so we had appetizers. As hideous as the EMP looks on the outside, I have to say, it’s even uglier on the inside. I didn’t think it was possible. And apparently, they didn’t really think about the stage when they designed the place. It’s absurdly small and poorly placed. We managed to get good seats (which is hard) and the sound was great, but I’m still amazed at the poor stage. I was still suffering from my cold so we didn’t stay out late.
Tuesday: I mostly slept. The idea was to rest enough to let my cold go away. No such luck. Around 10:00, W and I went to Squee’s New Year’s Eve Party. I was surprised to see Breanna and her dad there. It was fun, but I was just so tired and still blechy. We left soon after midnight.
Wednesday: More rest. In fact, not much else.
Thursday: I worked on my room. We made a raid out to Issaquah to seek out the evil…Krispy Kreme. My god, that place is evil, sheer unadulterated evil. They give you fresh hot doughnuts while you try to decide what level of resistance you can muster. Good luck. J says he’s not sure what percentage of crack is in there, but it must be high.
Friday: W and I reworked my closet. We added a closet bar and a shelf. It’s very nice.
Saturday: Miscellaneous shopping and errands.
Basically, I want a redo on my vacation, cuz I spent most of it being sick or tired or both. No fun. Although I hear that the call center had a record day on Thursday, so at least I dodged that bullet.
