Zazzle is having a shipping sale! Any order of $20.00 or more qualifies for free shipping. Just enter the code BFUWKMZVJFGHLGDTIOMF.
So go check out My Zazzle gallery! and start shopping! Sale ends October 5th.
As always, let me know if there is a product you’d like one of my images added to and I will try and make it happen!
As I've mentioned before, my biggest problem with Zazzle is their shipping policy for multiple types of merchandise. So, this is a really good time to make a purchase. They are having a free shipping sale with NO minimums through the end of June. Just use the code JUNESHIPFREE.
I even have a new piece for you. It's another piece I was working on just before the computer melt down. I made greeting cards, postcards and postage stamps. Let me know if you want to see it on any other merchandise. I can put almost any of my designs on any type of merchandise. I am also open to doing custom pieces for you, like your photos on stuff. just drop me an email.

So, I have ALL my data back. *Happy dance* Of course I have no time to work on things with a full time job again, but at least I got it back.
Zazzle is having a free shipping sale! Until May 25th, all orders over $45.00 ship free. Why is this a good thing, you may ask. Well, Zazzle has an annoying policy of charging shipping rates based on types of merchandise you buy. So, if you buy say a t-shirt, a magnet and a postcard, they all ship separately and get charged separately. During a sale like this, they are all shipped free! So, go buy some of my art on cool stuff here!

Zazzle is having a postage sale and I just added all my designs to stamps.
Time to mail with style!
The fine print:

Offer is valid from April 6, 2009 through May 24, 2009 at 11:59pm PDT. Your order must be placed during that time to qualify for this special promotional pricing offer. While at Emerald City Comicon, I had several people come up to the table and tell me how much they loved my work. One young man said that he wished he could subscribe to an image a day or something. While flattering, not much of this praise translated into profit, but it was still inspiring. Knowing that there are people who can get excited about my work is encouraging. I decided to see if I could upload an image a day to My Deviant art site. If I go back and include black and white images and maybe even sketches, I could keep going for quite a while. So I began last week to add pieces daily, skipping the weekends. On Thursday, I hit a snag. I couldn't access my external storage drive. Well, it was a good effort while it lasted. I had even been working on two new colored pieces, one of which was coming along quite well. So the wind is quite thoroughly out of my sails. Not only can't I continue uploading work, but I may never get some of it back. At least most of it is up on the net in some form. Well, so much for that.

A shot of me at my booth at Emerald City ComiCon on Saturday taken by Doug Herring. I am going to try and edit my photos sometime today.
Last week, I managed to finish up a commission. It was an old Victorian Advertisement that they wanted converted to foxes. Kind of fun. I like the border the best. Now I need to do art for Norwescon.
As some of you might know, my biggest problem with Zazzle is their odd shipping charges. Different products come from different places, so shipping can add up quickly. Because of this, I tend to let people know when they have a shipping sale. Now through the end of the month, shipping is free on all orders of $45.00 or more. The code is ESHIPSZAZZLE.

So, I am just back from three days of sitting at a table, selling stuff and doing art on demand at Further Confusion in San Jose. I began the weekend with a very early morning flight and a head cold, so it was not an auspicious beginning. Despite the handicaps, I soldiered on. The dealer's room opened about 11:00 and closed at 6:00. Lather rinse repeat for three days. My husband graciously helps out at these events. I have a wide array of merchandise with my art on it; postcards, magnets, stickers and mouse pads. I also take art commissions. Those are more popular because people can get exactly what they want drawn, within reason. I enjoy the challenge of this work and sometimes it really pays off. Sometimes, the pieces don't turn out so well, but you do what you can. I really enjoy doing the color work, but it requires taking a lot of design markers with us, which adds to the load.
Friday was a very successful day, and Saturday and Sunday weren't bad. I made slightly more than usual, which with the current economy is a good sign. I by no means make enough to even cover expenses, but it's marketing value has to be considered as well. I make contacts and handout flyers and business cards. We were also promoting our steampunk convention, Steamcon in October. There seems to be a great deal of interest in the steampunk, and we met some great folks. I even got to do several steampunk commissions for folks.
All in all it was a successful convention and we were even a little bit social on Saturday night. The cake wasn’t a lie! Unless you showed up late, in which case cookies were not a lie, but cake was. I helped out in the photo pit because I was feeling helpful. Or bossy, not sure. If we didn’t already pack so damn much stuff, I would costume as well. I probably don’t really have that much extra energy after an entire day of making art. It’s pretty exhausting. The cold didn’t help either.
This experience usually gets me all inspired to do more art, but this time I may even be inclined to do something new. It's all kicking around in my head, so we'll see what eventually comes out. If (as the signs seem to indicate) there is a new studio in my future, it would certainly help that come to fruition.

Okay, here’s the color version of Steambunny (silly name, but it’s sort of stuck). I made a greeting card and postcard. More stuff later. Just a little over a week until the con and I shouldn’t be doing this online stuff, but inspiration struck. So, back to the inking.

And as always… My other stuff.!

I'm busy working on art for Further Confusion. I'm trying hard not to do everything Victorian or steampunk, but it's difficult to resist. Below is the beginning of my favorite piece so far. I give you "Steam Bunny", an airship mechanic. Back to work...

On Wednesday I spent a good part of the day working on sketches for some new artwork. I got about six pieces started and felt pretty accomplished. That night at dinner
katemackim asked if I would consider an idea she had for a piece. The really weird thing is that it was exactly one of the sketches I worked on that day. Weird.
